Anyone looking for a budget friendly receiver that delivers good sound quality should really give the Onkyo TX-NR414 a good look. The Onkyo 414 is a relatively robust 5.1 audio receiver that sports 6 HDMI inputs and comes 3D ready. It supports numerous audio formats including: True HD, DD Plus and DTS-HD Master Audio. One of the things that is quickly becoming a standard on today’s audio receivers is an ethernet connection. The Onkyo TX-NR414 comes with one ethernet connection which easily allows the Onkyo 414 to hop on your computer network. A nice feature of the Onkyo TX-NR414 is that it gives you access to a plethora of internet radio stations such as Pandora, Sirius and Rhapsody to name a few, however it does not offer Airplay support.  The sound quality of the Onkyo 414 is surprisingly good at this price point and makes a nice centerpiece in a 5.1 arrangement.

The Onkyo 414 has a relatively intuitive user interface (although it can be a little clunky at times) and works nicely with the Onkyo app for iOS devices. One of the few things the 414 is missing at this price point is video up-conversion however, this is a small sacrifice to make when you take into consideration the other additional features that are packed into this receiver. Most reviewers have given the Onkyo TX-NR414 very positive reviews and at this price point it should definitely be considered.
