Onkyo 616 Audio Features
The Onkyo TX-NR616 has the coveted THX Select 2 Plus certification. Most mid-range receivers don’t receive THX certification because of the stringent tests receivers have to pass in order to receive certification, so this makes the 616 unusual. However, because of the certification you can rest assured that you’re hearing precisely what was originally recorded.
The Onkyo 616 uses its WRAT amplifier to deliver 115 watts of power to it’s 7 channels and with it’s unique calibration system it ensures you have a powerful yet balanced audio experience. The Audyssey 2EQ room calibration system measures your room and adjusts your speakers based on your rooms specific acoustics. The Audyssey Dynamic EQ maintains consistent bass response, tonal balance and surround effects no matter the volume level. Also, with Audyssey Dynamic Volume the Onkyo 616 is able to maintain volume levels from various audio content. In other words, you can say goodbye to super loud commercials. The 616 supports all major HD audio formats such as; Audyssey DSX, Dolby Pro Logic IIz, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS-HD Master Audio.

However, even without the wireless adapter you can still access internet radio thru the wired built in ethernet connection. You’ll have access to Pandora®, Slacker™, SIRIUS XM®, Last.fm, vTuner, Rhapsody, Spotify, and AUPEO!. Since the Onkyo TX-NR616 is DLNA compliant you can connect to other DLNA servers on your network.
